Gardai arrest ten men in major ‘organised crime’ investigation as number of vehicles detained

Gardai have declined to comment further on the incident

COPS arrested 10 men today as part of a major investigation into organised crime.

The suspects were detailed by gardai in Cork after what was described by sources as a significant operation earlier in the day.

Gardai have launched a probe into the incident

All 10 males, which have ages ranging from mid 20s to mid 50s, are currently being detained at a Garda station in Cork.

And Gardai confirmed that they have detained a “number of vehicle” subject to an ongoing technical examination as part of the probe.

A spokesperson said: “This morning, 14th March 2024 An Garda Síochána commenced an operation in West Cork.

“During the course of the Operation 10 males (ages ranging from mid 20s to mid50s) were arrested.

“All 10 males continue to be detained at Garda Station in County Cork under Organised Crime legislation.

“A number of vehicles were also detained and remain detained subject to ongoing technical examination.

They added: “An Garda Síochána is making no further comment at this time.”
