A member of An Garda Síochána will appear in court this morning as part of an investigation into anti-corruption.

The man, who has been charged, will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice.

A garda spokesperson said the Garda Anti-Corruption Unit has been carrying out an investigation into the activities of a particular Garda unit based in the Dublin Region.

“Since the start of this investigation, four members of An Garda Síochána have been suspended from duty,” they said.

“As this is an ongoing criminal investigation An Garda Síochána is making no further comment.”

This is the fourth court appearance as part of this investigation.

The particular unit has continued operational activities performed by other members of An Garda Síochána.
