Gardai stand down major search for missing Roscommon woman after body find

GARDAI have confirmed that the search for a missing Roscommon woman has been stood down following the discovery of a body.

Niamh Hand was last seen at her home in Roosky yesterday.

The 41-year-old was wearing a long black puffy jacket and grey trainers when she vanished.

Cops sadly confirmed this evening that the search for her has been stood down.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Following the discovery of a woman’s body earlier today, the missing person appeal for Niamh Hand, 41 years, has been stood down.

“We would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further information is available.”
