A man was charged with drugs offences following the seizure of cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy worth a total of more than €9,000 at his Dublin home, a court heard.
Charles Santos (30) is alleged to have had the drugs in the shared house when it was searched under warrant by gardaí.
Judge Monika Leech ruled the case was too serious to be dealt with at Dublin District Court and adjourned it for the preparation of a book of evidence.
The accused will be sent forward to the Circuit Court when the book is ready.
Mr Santos of Summer Street North, Dublin, is charged with possession of drugs with intent to sell or supply.
Outlining the allegations, Garda Kylie Beirne said she obtained a warrant to search the address on February 15 last year. A large quantity of drugs was found in different locations in the house, she said.
Two suspects were arrested that night and a further three people were interviewed. The total value of drugs allegedly found in a room Mr Santos shared with another male was €9,328.
This consisted of €2,762 worth of cannabis herb, €1,149 worth of cannabis resin, MDMA valued at €1,826 and cocaine worth €3,591.
Defence solicitor Michael French said as the accused was sharing a room the total value of drugs alleged might not be attributable to him. Of the five people, Mr Santos was the only one who had remained in the jurisdiction, Mr French said.
Judge Leech said she had no hesitation in refusing jurisdiction given the value of drugs involved.
