A man has been arrested and charged after gardaí busted a suspected drug operation in a Dublin hotel room this week.
A team from Store Street Garda Station carried out a search of a hotel room in the city centre yesterday evening over suspicions that the space was being used as a “base for cutting and distribution”.
Inside, they discovered and seized more than €11,200 worth of drugs and arrested one man, who has since been charged. The man was due before the courts today.
The raid was carried out as part of Operation Citizen, which was established to combat anti-social behaviour, public order and quality of life issues, assaults and high-volume crimes in the capital.
Sharing a photo of the seizure online, a garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí across Dublin work hard to gather intelligence that can help disrupt the sale and supply of drugs in city communities which are often left deeply affected by crime.
“Store Street gardaí executed a warrant at a hotel room in Dublin city centre yesterday evening which they suspected was being used as a base for cutting and distribution.
“They picked up just over €11,200 worth of drugs and arrested one man. He has since been charged #KeepingPeopleSafe”.
