Shock as huge sinkhole appears outside busy Dublin shop and area closed off after quick-thinking staff’s speedy response

A SMALL Irish village has been left with a sinking feeling after a huge sinkhole appeared outside a local corner shop.

Locals in the Dublin suburb were left in awe after the giant hole appeared.

Stunning images have emerged of the sinkhole outside of Mace on Sandymount Green in Dublin

The images show a part of the road has disappeared, sinking into the ground next to the kerb, below the pathway in front of the shop’s main entrance.

Dublin City Council have confirmed it is investigating the issue.

The area has been sealed off, with members of An Garda Siochana standing by.
