Man, 20s, rushed to hospital with ‘multiple lacerations’ after machete attack in Dublin park as cops make urgent appeal

A YOUNG man is in serious condition in hospital after suffering “multiple lacerations” during a machete attack.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the shock attack which took place in a Dublin park in Clondalkin this morning.

The incident, which is understood to have involved a machete-like weapon, took place shortly after 11am.

Gardai and emergency services responded to reports of a serious assault in St Cuthbert’s Park.

A man in his 20s sustained multiple lacerations during the incident and was brought by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital for treatment.

He is described to be in a serious but stable condition.The scene remains preserved for technical examination and an incident room has been established at Ballyfermot Garda Station.A Garda Senior Investigating Officer is leading the investigation and no arrests have been made as of yet.

Gardai are asking anyone who witnessed the assault to come forward.
