THE evil monster who murdered Ashling Murphy has been proclaiming his innocence behind bars, The Irish Sun can reveal.

Brute Jozef Puska, 33, has shown no remorse for the horrific attack and sickeningly told fellow inmates: “I didn’t do it, they got the wrong man.”

The father of five is no longer in protective custody at the Midlands Prison in Portlaoise, Co Laois.

Instead, Puska is sharing a cell with another inmate because of overcrowding in the prison system.

But the psycho remains convinced he will be a free man soon when his appeal is heard later this year.

A prison source told The Irish Sun: “Puska is adamant that he didn’t do it — and is telling everyone who is willing to listen. In his own little twisted mind he feels he has been hard done by and that he will win his appeal.

“He believes he has been set up and that the Gardai got the wrong man. He has not for one second admitted to the crime.

“He is the most arrogant person you could ever meet, with a huge sense of entitlement.”

The source added: “This fella is like Walter Mitty, he really thinks he can get away with anything.”

FOUND GUILTY

Slovakian Puska was banged up for life after he was found guilty of Ashling’s murder last November.

He stabbed 23-year-old primary school teacher Ashling 11 times while she was out for an afternoon run by the canal in Tullamore, Co Offaly, on January 12, 2022.

Beast Puska had denied the charge. However, his DNA was found on Ashling’s fingernails — and prosecutors declared the evidence against him was “overwhelming”.

He initially confessed to Ashling’s murder two days after the killing when he was quizzed by detectives at Dublin’s St James’ Hospital.

Puska told the cops: “I did it, I murdered. I am the murderer.”

But he later insisted he never made the confession and claimed he was delirious on drugs from an operation for stab wounds.
