A concert-goer arrested for his drunken behaviour at a heavy metal gig in Dublin’s 3Arena had “way too much” alcohol on the night.

Gardaí had to be called when Mauricio Figueroa Pinzon (40) resisted staff as they put him out of the concert by veteran UK rockers Judas Priest.

Adjourning the case, Judge Monika Leech said she would strike the charges out, leaving him without a criminal record if the accused made a €200 charity donation.

Pinzon, of The Coach House, The Castle, Oranmore, Co Galway, pleaded guilty to public intoxication and threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour.

Dublin District Court heard the incident happened at the 3Arena, North Wall Quay on March 15 this year.

He was a danger to himself and others and was arrested. Pinzon had no previous convictions.

He had attended the concert with friends and had “way too much to drink,” his solicitor Eoghan O’Sullivan said. He was embarrassed and ashamed of his actions, and was apologetic.

Pizon, from Colombia, had been living in Ireland for some time, was working as a carpenter and had enrolled in a civil engineering course, Mr O’Sullivan said.

There had been “no mark on his record” in 40 years and the solicitor asked Judge Leech not to convict him.
