Drugs and phones seized after drone used to drop ‘package’ into Midlands Prison

The Midlands has become the latest prison to be targeted by drone smugglers – resulting in the Irish Prison Service (IPS) reviewing hi-tech systems that would allow officers to take over control of hostile drones.

It can be revealed that a package was successfully dropped by drone into the exercise yard in G-Wing of the Midlands Prison last week.
