Two youths arrested as scrambler chase leads to crack cocaine and heroin seizure

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested two youths after a scrambler chase and discovery of a large quantity of drugs.

Gardaí’s Divisional Drugs Unit were on patrol in Glenageary when they approached two youths who attempted to flee. They quickly caught one who was subsequently arrested.

“We’ve been working hard to disrupt the sale and supply of drugs in communities in South County Dublin, and on Wednesday we intercepted a drugs transaction between two young males travelling on e-bikes,” gardaí stated.

Inside the backpack of one of the males, gardaí uncovered 172g of cocaine worth in the region of €12,000.

They also found 17g of crack cocaine which had been cut into 101 bags for dealing.

On top of that, they discovered 7g of heroin split into 29 deals.

A 5g bag of cannabis was also seized with a weighing scales.

One youth has since been charged and as gardaí objected to bail, he is held on remand in custody due before the courts.

Gardaí say their “broader investigation” remains ongoing.
