Funeral notice appears for murder suspect and horse trainer Jonathan Creswell

A funeral notice has appeared for a horse trainer who died at the beginning of his trial for killing a young female showjumper.

Jonathan Creswell (36) who denied the murder and rape of Katie Simpson, was found dead during the week. It is not believed that police are looking for anyone in connection with his death.

Funeral Times announced the death today of “Creswell Jonathan James: 24th April 2024, suddenly at his home. Dearly beloved Son of Donna. A strictly private funeral will take place at a later date.”

The notice ends with the phrase “The Lord Is My Shepherd.”

The second day of Creswell’s trial was due to take place on Wednesday, but he was found dead on Tuesday evening.

The jury was informed at the start of the proceedings that Creswell had passed away in non-suspicious circumstances.
