Man (30s) arrested for ‘criminal damage offences’ in Sligo as gardai lift media blackout

A man aged in his 30s has been arrested for “criminal damage offences” after an incident in Sligo was resolved by gardaí this morning.
Gardai had requested a media blackout in relation to the incident at a house at St. Brigid’s Place, Sligo Town, Sligo.
The media blackout has now been lifted after a man was arrested at the house as gardai got the situation under control.
“Earlier this morning, An Garda Síochána resolved an incident at a domestic residence at St. Brigid’s Place, Sligo Town, Sligo,” gardai said.
“Arising from this incident, a man aged in his 30s, has been arrested for criminal damage offences and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in Co. Sligo.
“No injuries have been reported at this time.”
Gardaí also added that they wanted to thank the media for their cooperation during the media blackout.
