Hunt is on for Kinahan-linked Irish gangster who skipped bail over Spanish bar shooting

POLICE are hunting two men arrested over a gun attack on a celeb haunt in the Costa del Sol resort of Marbella after they skipped bail.

The pair, one Irish and one British were remanded in custody at the end of March after being identified as the suspects behind a March 11 shooting incident at La Sala eatery near glitzy Puerto Banus.

The suspect have been described by police as having links to organised crime. The Irish national is said to have a long association with the Kinahan cartel.

Overnight it emerged an arrest warrant has been issued for them after they were given bail on a technicality 10 days ago, and breached their release conditions by failing to show for their first signing-on date at court earlier this week.

The two men were identified after at least 15 shots were fired into the windows of La Sala whose shareholders include former Premier League star David Bentley.News of the apparent escape of the La Sala shooting suspects comes less than a fortnight after the alleged leader of a mafia organisation linked to threats against the Dutch royal family fled Spain after being granted bail following his headline arrest in January.

“The two suspects are linked to organised crime.”

They also revealed around €31,000 in cash had been seized during their raids along with a large machete and revolver, and the motorbike used in the attack on La Sala had been fitted with false number plates.

Visitors to the venue over the years have included the likes of Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, Erling Harland, Jurgen Klopp and Harry Maguire.

The incident was one of a number of shootings in the area this year which has led to parts of Marbella like Puerto Banus being branded the ‘Wild West’ by locals.

Police announced soon after it happened they had launched an operation called Marbella Plan’ to help keep British and Irish tourists safe following a spate of shootings in the famous resortThey warned locals and visitors they could expect to see more random stops and police checkpoints in and around the holiday destination.
