Man, 39, stabbed in chest during fatal house party row in Kildare named as murder probe launched and arrest made

COPS are investigating after a man was brutally stabbed in the chest following a row at a house party.
Ion Daghi, 39, originally from Moldova, lost his life early this morning in the horror attack in Sallins, Co Kildare.

It is understood tragic Ion was stabbed at the back of a house in Sallins Park in the Co Kildare town after a row erupted at a party.
Gardai and the emergency services were called to the property shortly after 3.15am, with the victim pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his early 20s, who was known to the victim, has been arrested and was being detained at a Garda station in Kildare this evening.
Stunned locals told how they heard loud voices at the back garden of the house during the party.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai in Naas are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 30s, which occurred following an incident at a residence in Sallins, Co Kildare, on Sunday, May 12. Gardai and Emergency services were alerted shortly after 3.15am regarding an incident at a residential property in Sallins Park.
“Upon arrival, a man in his 30s was discovered with fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later.”
Arrest made
They added: “A man in his early 20s was arrested at the property and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in Co Kildare.
