Israel invites US, European ambassadors for Gaza war rally
Israelis will turn out on Saturday for weekly demonstrations calling for the release of captives held in Gaza, but international politicians and artists have also been invited to a major rally event, according to the Hostages and Missile Families Forum.
US Ambassador Jack Lew, UK Ambassador Simon Walters, German Ambassador Steffen Seibert and Austrian envoy Nikolaus Lutterotti are expected to address crowds in an event aimed at focusing more attention on a ceasefire agreement, the Times of Israel reports.
Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and talk show host Dr Phil – who just interviewed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel – are expected to speak via video messages.
Eden Golan, who represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest despite tens of thousands protesting, and multiple other artists will reportedly perform at the event.
