Compo-chasing Dublin gran, 74, caged over €28k fraud after series of bogus claims issues grovelling apology to judge

A COMPO chasing grandmother has been caged over a €28,000 insurance fraud.

Chancer Winnifred Lawrence lodged a series of bogus claims falsely alleging she had slipped and hurt herself on footpaths and in shops.

The 74-year-old gran and mother of 16 waged her brazen compo spree between 2012 and 2014.

But today the serial fraudster got banged-up after a garda probe into the dodgy claims.

Judge Pauline Codd sentenced the compo grasping grandmother to three-and- a-half years in prison with the final year-and-a-half suspended.
