Gucci handbags, Adidas trainers and cannabis among items seized in €370k Dublin Revenue haul

The illicit drugs were uncovered in parcels originating from the UK, the USA, Canada, Thailand, and India and were intended for addresses nationwide.

Revenue officers seized almost €370,000 worth of drugs and designer goods while examining parcels at a Dublin premises last week.

Approximately 8.4kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €169,800 was seized during the course of numerous operations, while various quantities of other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of €1,950, were also confiscated.

Cannabis resin weighing 14.4kg, 574g of THC edibles, 13.8ml of cannabis oil, and 604 Amphetamine, Alprazolam, Zopiclone and Zolpidem tablets were all discovered as a result of risk profiling.

The illicit drugs were uncovered in parcels originating from the UK, the USA, Canada, Thailand, and India and were intended for addresses nationwide.

Meanwhile, some 1,748 handbags, pairs of footwear, and other retail items from brands like Adidas, Nike, and Gucci were also seized due to infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.

Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Chloe, Marc Jacobs, YSL, New Balance, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Under Armour goods were also included in the haul, which had an estimated value of approximately €198,000.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
