Manhunt under way after man armed with sword drove into garda and rammed patrol cars in Dublin
The GRA have condemned the incident and it’s believed the man is still at large

A manhunt is under way after a garda was hit by a car and patrol cars were rammed in a shocking incident in Dublin.
It’s understood a man who had a sword is still at large after the incident that happened in the Dublin suburb of Castleknock.
Gardai were responding to an alleged violent incident when the man struck the garda with his car and rammed other patrol vehicles.The incident has led to calls for increased garda numbers as there are “simply not enough to protect their colleagues when they come under attack.
A garda spokesman said: “While responding to an incident at an apartment complex in the Castleknock area of Dublin 15 shortly before 1 am this morning, Monday, May 20, 2024, a Garda was struck by a car and injured. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and later discharged.
“He remains off duty at this time. No arrests have been made at this time; however, Gardaí are following definite lines of enquiry Garda welfare services have been put in place for the Garda member and his colleagues. Investigations are ongoing.”
