Man armed with knife arrested outside school on Dublin’s Parnell Street

A man armed with a knife has been arrested outside a school on Dublin’s Parnell Street. The man, who is understood to be an Irish national, was arrested for alleged threatening and abusive behaviour outside the school in Dublin city centre.
Gardai discovered that the man was armed with a blade.
The shocking incident comes after a child was left in a critical condition following a mass stabbing incident outside a school on the same street last year.In a statement gardai confirmed the incident: “Following an incident this morning in the Parnell Square area of Dublin City Centre where alleged threatening behaviour was undertaken, a male (30s) has been arrested for alleged offences under the Firearms and Offences Weapons Act.“The male is currently in custody in a Dublin City Centre Garda Station. There are no injuries reported as a result of this incident. An Garda Síochána had been conducting regular patrols in this area and these patrols will continue.
“Gardaí are liaising with the local community and anyone impacted by the incident.”
