Gardaí identify suspect after elderly man “badly assaulted” during Donegal attack

Gardaí in Co Donegal have launched an investigation after an elderly man was “badly assaulted.”
The attack took place in the Hillhead area of Castlefin on May 19.
The man was attacked during what gardaí have described as a “dangerous incident.”
Details of his injuries or the nature of the attack or if the man was robbed have not been released.
Garda Niall Maguire said the attack happened between 9.15pm and 9.45pm.He confirmed that they have a suspect but that no arrests have yet been made in connection with the attack.
He appealed to anybody who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
“We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in the area of Hillhead, or within Castlefin itself, between 9.15pm and 9.45pm with a dash cam to make contact with gardaí in Letterkenny on 0749167100,” he said.
