Man stabbed to death in Finglas named locally, as manhunt for suspect underway

A father of two who was stabbed to death at a house in north Dublin overnight has been named locally.
Mark Carroll (34) was discovered with serious injuries after emergency services were alerted to a house in the Scribblestown area of Finglas at around 1am this morning.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to James Connolly Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Mr Carroll was from the Finglas area and had been a visitor at the property where the fatal assault happened.
Investigators believe he was stabbed to death after a row turned violent and are attempting to locate the chief suspect for the attack.
Tributes have been paid online to the assault victim with one family member saying they have been left “numb” by the tragedy.
