A PROLIFIC car thief was stabbed to death by an irate vigilante after an attempt to break into a van, gardai suspect.

Jordan ‘Paco’ Pakenham, 20, was knifed in the Drumcairn estate in Dublin’s Tallaght in the early hours of yesterday.The young thief, who had carried out a spate of assaults and robberies in Tallaght over recent months, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and was being quizzed last night.
