Dozens of people are taking part in a protest against the fencing of the banks of the Grand Canal in Dublin city centre.
Some of the protesters have pulled down barriers on the canal bank near Baggot Street Bridge and are sitting on them.
Gardaí are present and are monitoring the protest.
The protest started outside the offices of the Department of Integration at Milesian Plaza where there were speeches calling for the fences to be removed and for accommodation for asylum seekers.
