“Tell Them You Love Me”. Professor Anna Stubblefield (Philosophy, Ethics, Disabilities), Rutgers University, a documentary by Louis Theroux released in June this year. It is disturbing to say the least but asks us about people who have professional “Labels” in Society and how they use their position to abuse people who are vulnerable, this includes doctors who abuse children, or the alleged recent case of the CAMH’s patient allegedly raped by her doctor. More cases are being reported about paedophile Dr Shine from Drogheda Hospital; this may remove the veil from those who continue to see him as innocent. The Shine case had an attempt at a Tribunal (Judge Smyth) but the findings were blocked from the Public. Taoiseach Simon Harris, I urge you, for the benefit of those who are vulnerable in our country, to hold an Inquiry so that the findings can be used to ensure adequate boundaries are put in place to protect vulnerable people. I recommend watching the documentary. Stubberfield’s husband in his victim impact statement called her a Narcissist and a Psychopath? I have included TikTok for a younger person’s view, short but worth watching
