Alinna Shafaie is accused of breaching immigration laws by not producing identification, after a garda refused to accept his International Protection Office card as proof.

The garda insisted “we don’t know who he is”, despite the Department of Social Protection already accepting Mr Shafaie’s identification and paying him social welfare.
