It is all over Social Media, are these Gardai, Alleged Clowns, we know Innocent until Courts Decide, but the Headlines here, Three Gardai to be charged with assaulting boy in incident that began with ‘water squirt’ The Director of Public Prosecutions has ordered the officers be charged following an investigation, by GSOC, the independent policing watchdog, over the incident in Dublin Rank and file officers are reportedly livid that their colleagues are facing charges. One officer shared: “Everyone in the DMR is talking about it. The feeling is the members are really unlucky to be charged and now their jobs are on the line over a silly incident.” It’s been established that the incident occurred around six months ago on a Dublin street and GSOC has been investigating a complaint from the 17 year old ever since. Investigators sent a file to the DPP, who has recently authorised the officers to be charged. However, it remains unclear if each member will be charged with both assault and false imprisonment, or just one of the offences. Again so many Gardai, before the Courts, this year, and the numbers, keep Rising?
