Identity of Belfast teacher (33) facing sex abuse charges against schoolboy revealed The 33-year-old, of Elmwood Grove in Newtownabbey, appeared at Belfast Crown Court last Wednesday to deny 11 sex abuse charges. Her name Judith Evans, she will stand Trial, later this Year.

Judge Patricia Smyth declined to make any order preventing Evans from being named, citing the importance of open justice.

However, she gave Evans’ legal representatives a deadline of 6pm on Saturday to provide evidence from a psychiatrist and any further argument.

The defendant confirmed no further argument would be made on Saturday evening.

Judith Evans will stand trial later this year on sexual offences she is accused of committing against a male student.
