Leinster House’s €336k bike shed ‘a complete waste of public money’ as Finance Minister calls for ‘full accountability’ The shed, which holds 18 bicycles and was made using Irish granite, steel, and glass, has come under fire from both the public and Government officials after the extortionate price was revealed.
The €336,000 sum included €10,816 on quantity surveying and “contract administration services” and €2,952 on archaeological services.

It was paid out of funds from the Office of Public Works (OPW).
Finance Minster Jack Chambers is the latest TD to blast the pricing saying “It’s a complete waste of public money”.

He has also called for “full accountability” from “whoever signed off on it”.
