And Sheridan questioned how Micheal Martin “knows so much and what evidence does he have to prove Ian Bailey did it?”Since Michael Martin has now solved the case, he should immediately stop the Garda investigation into Sophie’s murder, and instead spend the €6million it has cost so far building 20 new bicycle sheds around Dail Eireann.”You have to seriously ask why is the cold case review continuing, when the Deputy Prime Minister of the country has decided that Ian Bailey was the killer.

Sheridan fumed: “I spent seven years investigating this shocking murder and yet one of our top politicians can come along right out of the blue and say Ian Bailey should have been charged with the killing and that he regretted it didn’t happen.

The esteemed director said he could not believe that Martin had decided to intervene in the case at the launch of a new book, ‘Sophie: The Final Verdict’ written by journalist Senan Molony.
