On any given day, Russian military aircraft fly off Irelands west coast.
We have no capability to police our own air space .
Those that would see us defenceless are a threat to national security.

Russia wouldn’t be a threat to Ireland if were were still neutral. We are, in effect if not in name, part of NATO now through our membership of the EU and our Government’s acceptance of the NATO narrative on Ukraine. Russia is surrounded by NATO bases; the West has been threatening, provoking, agitating against and chipping away at Russia’s sovereignty ever since the end of World War II. The Russians are not the enemy: NATO is.

Yes personally I agree. George Kennan named Containment but NATO like creeping mice swept up states bordering Russia & that was provocative; then they back Ukraine. The threat became more realistic. What may happen is a deal could be done. Ukraine minus 4 oblasts already taken and Crimea could be left as a rump State of no benefit to anyone but a victory for Russia
