The Documentary on Netflix series was based on a series of real events. Ian Bailey has been tried and convicted in absentia in France. If he was unwise enough to travel to France, he would be arrested, and a new trial would begin. This is legal in France where the system of Justice is modelled on the Napoleonic Code, which is very different, from the English common law model which applies in a lot of the English speaking part of the world. As one Reporter said, if Bailey was Innocent, look at the long Years of Suffering, he had to Endure, and Die literally, Broke and Isolated. Will we ever know the Facts now?

  1. Modern forensics will solve this crime, I reckon. Meanwhile, Ian Bailey should be given a post-humous pardon, like Harry Gleeson (another man blamed for a murder with no evidence).
