Wave of evil paedophiles viewing & hoarding sick child abuse pics walk free from court amid ‘not lesser crime’ alert Suspended Sentences For 1,700 Child Abuse Pics
Just five days later, former Department of Justice official Niall Colgan, 39, of Muckross Park, Perrystown, Dublin 12, was also handed a fully-suspended sentence after he admitted possessing child abuse material.
And in March, Judge Nolan gave Daniel Doyle, 32, a suspended two-year sentence for having more than 1,700 images of child abuse in his possession.
The judge described it as a “serious matter” as a large number of images and videos were found on a laptop and phone owned by Doyle, of Coolevin, Ballybrack, Co Dublin.
It was also noted that Doyle is on the sex offenders’ register, which “rightly places burdens on him”.But Judge Nolan said he would not impose a custodial sentence, saying that the conviction itself is a “serious matter” and that Doyle “should be appropriately ashamed of this behaviour”.
PAEDO’S AVOID JAIL
In January, Richard Cox, 40, of Tamarisk Avenue, Tallaght, Dublin, got a two-and-a-half-year suspended sentence despite 269 images and 39 videos of child abuse being found on a mobile phone.
Last year, ex-GP Ronan Keogan, 51, of College Square, Terenure, Dublin, received a fully-suspended sentence off Judge Patricia Ryan after admitting to the possession and distribution of three sexually explicit images of two kids.
And Paul O’Carroll, 45, also avoided being jailed by Judge Nolan after being found in possession of more than 4,000 pics and videos of child abuse at his home on Delaford Ave, Knocklyon, Dublin.
