Two years of Russia’s invasion

Once a powerful force, Russia’s private military company Wagner Group is facing a downgrade after its chief Prigozhin’s death a year ago. The Wagner Group’s capability is now split between integration into the Russian Ministry of Defense and maintaining its brand in some African countries. In this interview, ‪@EuroResilience‬ host Sergej Sumlenny and his guest Christopher Faulkner, an assistant professor at the U.S. Naval War College ‪@usnavalwarcollege‬, explore Wagner’s controversial deployments in Africa, their role as enforcers for regimes, and what the future might hold for Wagner and other Russia’s private military companies. Professor Faulkner speaks in his private caoacity and does not reoresent views of the U.S. government or any official institution. The ‪@EuroResilience‬ is a video podcast of the European Resilience Initiative Center. Learn more about ERIC: https://european-resilience.org
