X 1960’s Ireland visionaries were Lemass and Whitaker. Ireland is home to many of the world leading technological and pharmaceutical companies. However, we have a first class tier of professional workers, many from overseas, but we have a third world infrastructure. This article by eminent Dan O’Brien is essential reading. …”The next government needs to repeal the ban on nuclear power generation or Ireland will miss out on the benefits of small modular reactors…”

Some respondents don’t appear to have read what they responded to. Privately built and run reactors mean that the state wouldn’t have to pay for vital infrastructure, saving taxpayers the outlay and (inevitable) cost overruns.

The next government needs to repeal the ban on nuclear power generation or Ireland will miss out on the benefits of small modular reactors. Tech companies building them would add clean electricity to the grid, save taxpayers a fortune+cut imports
