That obsession with making “mini-me”s is what some of us (those who have fewer / no kids) find disturbing about the conservative movement. Ironically, while they often claim to be Christians, this drive to reproduce their own flesh and blood is a throwback to pagan fertility-worship – and far from the unwordly Utopica preached by Jesus, whose kingdom was (to use his own words:) “not of this world”.

The idea that childless people are “selfish” is a projection of their own shame at overpopulating the world, adding to the burden on the exchequer – and using children as bargaining tools / slaves. They openly admit that they had kids to mind them in their old age. When challenged about the ethics of this, and asked how their children would feel if they knew this was the reason their parents had them, these arrogant TradParents brag that single people will “depend” on these children as future carers – but when asked if they are “volunteering” their kids as carers, they quickly backtrack… Luckily for us childfree ones (and unfortunate old people estranged from their children), AI will make us independent; better to have a robot wipe our bottom than an unwilling carer.

The TradParents want to control their families, but they cannot guarantee that their children will grow up to be productive members of society – in fact the children of rigid conversatives tend to rebel.

The TradMums seem to be very bitter about being used as human grow-bags, and insecure about their husbands – watch them jealously guarding their men whenever a single female is in sight. But they need not worry, because no single woman in her right mind would want to “steal” a TradMan, whose sole purpose in life seems to be convincing himself he’s manly.

The typical TradMan resents women who choose not to have children, because they are denying men like him the “right” to reproduce. But I always tell them not to worry; soon technology will make it possible for men to get pregnant.

The best reaction to these hypocritial, deeply unspiritual, worldly, neo-pagan God-botherers, however, is to remind them that even the Man Above told them to “go forth and multiply”.
