November 2024 and an election in Ireland … weather bodes badly for politicians seeking support in public spaces in the election on November 29th. Surprised at Micheal Martin ruling out an alliance with Aontu, a party which is grassroots, and although I don’t agree with some parts of their Manifesto, I cannot but say Peadar Toibin TD is a formidable adversary for the opposing parties. People need to get used to the idea that Aontu is going to be prominent in Irish politics. Mairead Toibin is also up for election and she too is worth a vote.

Mícheal Martin rules out coalition with Aontú.

Not concerned with housing, waste or the cost of living crisis,

Mícheal makes a decision on the basis of his bruised ego.

Is that not the definition of a hallow husk?

Should we give poor Mícheál a hug?

  1. This witty riposte from Peadar Toibin was a real sign that he is ready to do battle for the Irishpeople who are sick of being sneered at by the men in the shiny suits. I may give my local Aontu candidate (Peadar’s less charismatic sister) No 1 after all. However I worry that they care more about the youth and families than the elderly and single; Ireland’s Cat Ladies won’t vote for anyone with JD Vance’s attitude.
