Fine Gael election candidate Barry Ward believes his party colleague Senator John McGahon, who brutally assaulted another man in the street, is an appropriate candidate for Dáil Éireann. Barry Ward is Fine Gael Seanad spokesperson on Justice. In 2023 Barry Ward said award-winning barrister Simeon Burke, brother of Enoch Burke, was “not an appropriate candidate for membership of the Bar.” These are Barry’s beliefs.
