Children of surrogacy will be the Magdalen Babies of the future. Their mothers are like the women in the TV series based on the Margaret Attwood novel “A Handmaid’s Tale” (ironically it was written as a satire to criticise Conservatives, but now it’s the Wokists who are using women as growbags). It’s grossly unethical to trade in human flesh, to take advantage of impoverished young women.
A gripping and fair assessment of a distressing case. Comiskey writes with the eye of an experienced journalist, always on the lookout for the telling detail. She has produced a well-written and invigorating book which says much about how, in a media age, distorting images can undermine the search for justice.
