Two men have sustained injuries following an assault in Dublin city centre, with one man in a critical condition.
The man, aged in his 40s, was taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment following the incident that occurred at the junction of Dame Street and Euston Street.
The second man was taken to St James’s Hospital, but has since been discharged.
No one has been arrested in relation to the assault on the men, who are both off-duty members of An Garda Síochána.
An incident room has been established at Pearse Street Garda Station.
Gardaí have appealed for anyone with information contact them.
Individuals who may have camera footage from area, between 1:00am and 1:45am, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
