Sean says he could never afford to move or rent somewhere else

He said: “If I comply and take down the cabin, where do I live? But if I refuse and go to jail they will still take it down and I’ll come back home to an empty site so where do I live then?”
And he explained that the mobile home is not attached to the cabin, so he could put the hitch onto it and take the movable structure off the land.
The local community have rallied around Sean in his time of need.
A petition, started by neighbour Keith O’Brien, has already amassed 3,000 supporters who “believe that shelter is a basic human right and this elderly man should be allowed to live out his day’s in his home which he has provided himself at no cost to the state.”
A Facebook page called ‘Save Sean’s Cabin’ has also been set up, alongside a GoFundMe page called ‘Pensioner facing prison for building a log cabin’.
