In 2023, Carol Nolan referenced a UCD report which laid out horrifying cases of child s*x abuse & disappearances in state care. The report was published 5 months before this speech & despite repeated parliamentary questions by Nolan in the intervening period, O’Gorman (Dept Children) & McEntee (Justice) had no contact on the matter. She received a typical vague and non-urgent politician’s answer from Micheal Martin who reeled off all the usual “safety measures” and “procedures”, the government was following. Box-ticking bullsh*t while children were disappearing and being r*ped.
