Three people are due in court in connection with a serious assault in Monaghan town, in which a man was critically injured.
Two men and a woman, all aged in their 20s, were arrested on Wednesday.
They have since been charged and are due to appear before Cavan District Court later this morning.
The incident occurred in the Park Road area of the town between 10pm and 11pm on Tuesday night.
The man in his 40s received life-threatening injuries and was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
He was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he remains in a critical condition.
