Comment here is welcome. But the point is, it is not about bank transfers or cash, it is about our older population not receiving their pensions because of a Government completely in a shambles. To put it bluntly, they are unfit to run the country. Some of our pensioners may have bank accounts and others have the right to decide not to have accounts and prefer to be paid over the counter. Based on some research, banks like cash predators, as we know since the bust in 2009, are not there for anybody’s best interest but their own profits. We cannot forget Fingers or Seanie Fitz … can we? Today it was about pure incompetence and many people tonight will have deep concerns that some pensioners may not have enough food for the long weekend. I will close by saying Cash will always be there and banks and then there is Revolut but I sincerely hope we never lose our Respect and Compassion for our elderly who built up this State. Look in tonight if you have an elderly neighbour and make sure their fridge is full and their home is warm.

Why can the Dept of Social Protection lodge it in their bank accounts so they can withdraw it (or tap their cards) whenever they want? Shocking to think there are still many old people Ireland having to show up at post offices where they are handed notes and coins in full view of predators. Then they go home and predators know they have cash in the house.
