A trainee Garda was arrested for allegedly stealing a wallet from a victim of crime while taking a statement at a home, we can reveal.
The trainee was on placement away from An Garda Siochana’s training college in Templemore when the incident occurred. The man was arrested after allegedly stealing a wallet that had a GPS tracker in it .He was subsequently released without charge but investigations are ongoing. It is believed that the arrest took place in the past week .A Garda spokesperson said: “A male has been arrested and detained under section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984 in relation to this offence.
