The Guardian: How Spain’s radically different approach to migration helped its economy soar. Comment by Geraldine Comiskey, So the solution to poverty is to replace the indigenous people? How does that help them? Are they expected to be grateful as they compete with newcomers for resources, and sink further to the bottom of the welfare heap, finally ending up in care homes struggling to understand what the young foreign nurses are saying to them? Better, surely, to havr a country made up of mostly poor people. Because a “thriving economy” with a “high GDP” means a greater gap between rich and poor – and it’s the indigenous elderly people who get left at the bottom of the heap. Thank you.
