Tolls across Ireland in 2024 took €478,000,000 nearly half a BILLION from the Irish people. That’s over €1,300,000 robbed from the Irish people in tolls every single day. ”Tolls are there to pay for the road” .…but the road was paid for YEARS ago and the toll was sold to private companies OUTSIDE of Ireland. This is theft and extortion on the Irish people. Plus If someone lives near a toll and has to use it to get to work they are the ones that get hit every single day. All roads should be paid for through the massive 60+% taxes on fuel. Ireland has one of the highest fuel taxes in the world plus on top of that, motor tax. Motor tax disc on car should be abolished aswell. Imagine in 2025 we still have garda doing checkpoints to see do people have a valid paper disc stuck on their windscreens. All the money to build and maintain the roads should come only from the huge tax we already have on fuel and abolish all tolls and motor tax completely. It’s all theft and extortion of the Irish people in the € BILLIONS! including. The National lottery, NCT, GoSafe speed vans, Irish Fisheries, forestry, oil and gas etc. Ireland and the Irish people are getting absolutely fleeced every single day and corrupt government are behind all of it.
