Man charged in connection with death of grandmother in Cork

A 38-year-old man has appeared before Cork District Court charged with assaulting his grandmother, causing her harm.

Stella Nnamdi, aged 82, died on Tuesday at Cork University Hospital after an incident at her home in Carrigaline, Co Cork, on Sunday.

This afternoon, Brian Nnamdi Ogbo, with an address at Garrydhu Drive, Kilmoney Road, Carrigaline, was brought before the district court in Cork where he faced a single charge of assaulting Stella Nnamdi at the home they shared on Sunday.

He was refused bail and was remanded in custody for a week.
