‘Considerable rise’ in crimes committed by people on bail as stats reveal worst areas for offences & action demanded Over 40,000 crimes were committed across Ireland by people on bail last year, it has emerged.
Over the last three years, 114,655 crimes were committed by suspects who were on bailThe figures were revealed after Sinn Fein Justice spokesperson Matt Carthy raised the issue with the Department of Justice and Minister Jim O’Callaghan.And stats also showed that over the last three years, 114,655 crimes were committed by suspects who were on bail.
The most amount of crimes were committed in Dublin’s North Central area, with 9,340 crimes in 2024 compared to 7,385 in 2022.
