Man, 30s, arrested after firearm discharged at Leitrim home as Gardai forced to deploy taser in daylight incident,

A MAJOR investigation is underway after a firearm was discharged at a home in Leitrim.

Gardai have arrested a man following the incident, which occurred on Friday, March 7.

The firearm has also been seizedGardai in Leitrim responded to an emergency call at a residential location in Killargue yesterday afternoon.

The Armed Support Unit were also called out to assist An Garda Siochana.

A man in his 30s was arrested following an intervention by the Armed Support Unit shortly after 3.20pm.

This involved the deployment of a taser.”Shortly after 3.20pm, following an intervention by the Armed Support Unit, including the deployment of a Taser, a man was arrested outside the residence, and a firearm was seized.”

The scene is now being preserved for a technical examination.
